As a portrait and urban photographer based in London, one of my skills is being able to look at the beauty within any landmark, person or structure. Although I do not consider myself to be a professional nature photographer, I find it's refreshing to seek opportunities and take inspiration from other subjects, such as the nature that often goes unnoticed within the bustling capital city or when I am travelling across the UK.
Many people feel that as London is so built up there must be very little nature to enjoy; how wrong they are. With an abundance of parks and open spaces just walking distance from my home in Greenwich, I often enjoy taking a stroll with my camera and seeing what I find along the way.
As regular readers will know, the majority of my work is black and white, however when photographing nature, I often choose to enhance the colours and love that each image is so unique, its great to experiment with different styles of editing.
